Summary
The Kamunabi had offered him a deal that seemed too good to be true at the time. A house, away from society, hidden beyond the mountains just like his childhood home. Barriers and more would be placed around the perimeter, along with surveillance from the Kamunabi themselves. He wasn’t necessarily confined to the house, but given his extensive history and the reputation he had made, it was advised he seldom showed his face in public. The Kamunabi would provide necessities for him as needed. In exchange, the Kamunabi would request access to the swords whenever needed, but Chihiro would remain the sole owner of the swords. He wouldn’t have agreed, in fact he still didn’t even like the agreement, but their use hadn’t been needed once since his journey had ended. The only reason he did agree was currently humming to himself in the kitchen, the warm smell of baked cookies wafting in the air.
“Chihiro, have you seen the oven mitts?”--
