Summary
The following volumes were located after the events of the Netherbrain, in one of the larger rooms for rent in The Elfsong Tavern, Baldur’s Gate, Faerun. They were found under one of the beds, in good quality despite the city being in tatters. I feel that it is likely due to the location and timing, that they belonged to one of the now missing party who brought the Netherbrain to heel and therefore of great historical interest. Although anonymous, the bulk of the text is signed by author “A”, with additions by an uncredited secondary person in a different hand and ink. Completely fascinating and worth both corroborating and my transcribing to the archive. Author “A” writes in common, cursive script, standard black ink. [Secondary Author] writes in common, mostly in uppercase, in a brownish red ink I am not familiar with at this time. I will update my notes once it has been identified. My own notes will appear with an asterisk as I make my way through the text. To say I am excited by this find is an understatement

Summary
The water is filling his lungs.
He scrunches his eyes to fight off the salt already burning deep up his nose, threatening to flood his whole body as he sinks, sinks…
He could swim up, but he doesn’t. He could be scared, but he isn’t. He’s resigned to die. To be buried in the cold, dark ocean, and become one of the many forgotten things that call it their tomb.
He’s sinking, deeper and deeper, feeling his body go stiff as the icy darkness wraps around his limbs.
The last blue light of the surface has abandoned him.
And he can’t be sad, can he? He knows that he chose this, after all. Even if he can’t remember it. Even if the tiniest inkling of regret is creeping up on him with each bit of light lost.
He goes limp, parting his lips to let the water in.- Language:
