“Bomb.” Matt says the moment the beeping starts, even though it’s not necessary. “Twenty feet East.”
Once they’re looking in the correct direction, the clock is immediately and easily visible, flashing bright red in the otherwise dark room from a pile of broken-down crates. Two minutes. Plenty of time.
“Got it.” Jason says, moving swiftly, his boots barely making noise against the concrete floor. Even though they're alone in the warehouse, he still moves with a trained silence. He holsters his weapon. “You should all clear out, just in case.”

The first time he meets him, he thinks his eyes are playing tricks on him.
Mostly because it’s his suit, his name, his legacy on another black haired blue-eyed boy who fights with an efficiency that can only be taught by one person. Or maybe it’s because he never thought Bruce would replace him, didn’t think that Robin was just some suit to be passed down to the next kid dumb enough to believe that Bruce Wayne knew best.

He gets it. He’s self sufficient, the scrappy street kid taken in by Batman, complete with Robin training and a snappish, aloof attitude. He doesn’t need checking up on.
But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s shaking apart on his sweat soaked sheets with a bloody, pus stained bandage stuck fast to his thigh.

There’s two of them now. In the house. No one else knows that, of course. It’s a secret shared by the two Todd twins.
They switch out everyday. One day Peter pretends his name is Jason, and the next, Jason pretends to be a facade with his same name. They keep each other updated with conversations the other had, and training tips for being Robin. After all, Bruce only took in “Jason,” no way he wanted both the real Peter and Jason. He signed up for one, so they’ll only be one.
It lasts about five months like that.
