Bilbo has not caught something since he was a lad and accidentally caught the flower that Bertie Proudfoot was tossing to see if anyone was interested in her. It had taken a lot of practice and restraint but he was quite proud of the fact that he no longer flinched when someone threw something at him. For even that sort of reaction meant something to the hobbit tossing their heart.
