Summary
At seven years old, you reluctantly agreed to play the dog.
It wasn’t your first choice—you would have preferred to be the head of the household—but playing the mascot was easy. You learned to sniff, to bark, to whine and beg for affection. You even chose your breed: a Bloodhound, just like the family’s beloved pet, Copper.
Years pass in a sunlit haze. Then, one evening, the light fades. You look away toward gathering clouds, and when you look back, you are thirty-four. You are returning home, newly crowned with a doctorate in psychology, ready to celebrate. Instead, you find your sister murdered and her killer vanished.
But death is an infinite force, and it has not finished with you. Two years later, scarred and worn at thirty-six, the BSU’s Jack Crawford wants your nose on the Minnesota Shrike case. Dr. Hannibal Lecter wants to study your scars. Will Graham, quietly, wishes to live beneath them.
And you?
You still dream of being the dog.Bookmarked by Bakery_of_Bastards
