Izuku paused, really taking in what he could in the dim lighting. This wasn’t a mouse, but a very gaunt and skinny man with bright blond hair and piercing blue eyes. A tiny man. He was shorter than the length of the pen Izuku held in his fist. “Oh. Oh! You’re not a mouse. You’re a very small man. Is that your quirk? Are your parents small too? Where do you live? What do you eat? Did you go to school like everyone else?”’

Two years later, Izuku’s father moves him to the countryside for ‘Quirk Rehabilitation'.’ Mr. Midoriya is anything but kind about it. The funny thing is, there seems to be a very small, blond, man living in the cottage as well. Is it possible for a very tiny hero to still save one child in need? Is it possible for that boy to save the very tiny hero in return?

The former hero's eyes widened against his will. The figure was emaciated and wrinkled in the way of the very old. Those eyes were a green Toshinori knew by heart.
“Young Midoriya?! My boy! What happened? I saw you just yesterday and you were fine. Did you get into a quirk accident?”
The smile that curved those thin and wrinkled lips grew. “Time and age happened to me. The quirk accident happened to you. Wait, is this your first jump!?””

Sixty-six year old Toshinori finds himself on the receiving end of a small child’s quirk awakening - what would become a very powerful time travel quirk. For now, a quirk accident that sends the former All Might on a journey through a time loop centered around his boy. He has no control over what points he jumps out of the time loop or when, but without a doubt, Izuku will be there.

One moment he stood tall in the middle of the building, the next he was looking up at the blonde mage. It left him a little dizzy and more than a little confused. She had said ‘itty bitty’, but this seemed a little too itty bitty.
Yu squealed. “Oh boy! Adorable tiny dragon!”
Nezu had paused with his tea only part way to his mouth. “Yu, that might be a little too small. Perhaps you could adjust the incantation to give him a bit more height?”
The woman mage’s magenta eyes sparkled as she grinned, “Come on, headmaster, give me a couple of minutes with this cat sized dragon!”

Toshinori the golden dragon agreed to teach at the United Magic Academy and take young Izuku as his apprentice. There are problems all around with this, starting with making a big dragon approachable to small human students and ending with the messiness of emotional teenagers. Toshinori may have adopted a human boy, but he didn’t fully understand what that would require of him. That doesn’t mean he isn’t up to the task.

Izuku wasn’t moving to help or hinder his mentor as Toshinori pulled them both back up from the depths. Izuku wasn’t moving at all. The former hero breached into the air with a gasp and a hacking cough as the rain pounded him from above and the waves threatened to push him back under. He dragged the limp form of his student up beside him, righting the boy so his head came above water. He pulled Izuku’s back to his own bony chest, pressed one large hand to the boy’s ribs and waited to feel what he couldn’t possibly hear over the raging of the sea and the storm.
“Breathe, my boy,” he yelled over the cacophony around them.
Izuku didn’t.
--The three day celebrity hero cruise was proposed as a good way to mingle with the press and the public. A morale booster for a world still recovering from war. A terrorist attack and a surprise storm sinking that cruise liner wasn’t on the agenda. He may not have a quirk anymore, but Toshinori still isn’t about to let his successor drown in the wreckage.

The green haired teen flailed his one free arm in an embarrassed way as he looked sheepishly down at his mentor. “I tripped.”
Toshinori raised both of his eyebrows. He shifted his weight to lean a little more heavily on the cane he held. “I’ve heard of people falling upward, but this is a new interpretation for me.”
--Or, after the war, school goes on. Sometimes Izuku still tries to do too much alone and sometimes he still needs his mentor to help him when he gets tied up in something a little above his usual reach.

All Might bowed out of the hero world with a sudden, but well planned retirement. The world didn’t panic, they had his hand chosen successor, Lemillion, all ready there and ready for action. Yagi Toshinori had no idea what to do with himself for retirement activities.
Ambassador Midoriya covered his misdeeds just well enough that police and heroes couldn’t officially involve themselves. However, sending in All Might’s recently retired, quirkless, secretary undercover to act as the family’s new butler wasn’t something that had to go through any official channels at all.
Toshinori the new butler finds himself in a very dangerous situation with a young Izuku and an emotionally beaten down Inko desperately in need of his help.

“Toshinori took a letter opener and neatly cut through the envelope to pull out the paper within. A small handful of glitter and confetti fell out of the folded paper. It was not in anyway what he expected. Someone had meticulously cut out words and letters from a variety of magazines and newspapers published in English.
It read: ‘To All Might, you’re my favorite hero. I love you like no other fan does! Retirement doesn’t change that. I know its your birthday this month. Consider this an invite to the best party you’ve ever had! Save the date. Love Always, your very biggest fan.’
The silence among the three of them at the desk stretched so long that even Ken stood up to join them. Finally Hizashi asked, “Is this one of those letters we put in the threat category or not?””

“The fungi,” the old dragon prodded, “You’ve come a long way to look for it. Are you a potion maker? An herbalist?”
“I – I need a rare mushroom to gain entrance to the United Magic Academy,” came the stuttered reply. “I c-can’t touch magic so the only way I can get in is if I can get a rare ingredients and brew an amazing potion. T-the good mushroom caves are all picked over so I’ve just kept looking until – uh, until I got here.”
The golden dragon tossed his head back with a bark of laughter. “Over my years I have grown used to humans entering my cave seeking to take my head or my treasure. ‘I need help getting into magic school’ is a new one!”

Toshinori the dragon gets an unexpected visitor to his cave. He couldn’t have predicted how very attached he would become of the small teenaged human. He really couldn’t have predicted how it would drag the old dragon back into a fight he’d thought finished years before. If young Izuku needs help getting into magic school, Toshinori will do everything a dragon can to make that happen.

Toshinori may have been forced to retire from his career as a firefighter, but that doesn’t mean he’s about to sit at home and spend the rest of his days knitting. Instead, he makes the rash decision to buy a coffee shop and just so happens to meet a freckled and green haired high school student in the process.
