Summary
After a disastrous school year of bullying and terror in Unova that culminated in an unceremonious, unwilling coming out to her father, 14-year-old Helia Brillante and her mother move to Paldea for a fresh start. Helia isn't so sure how 'fresh' of a start it will really be - she's prepared to face the same, if not worse, at Uva Academy.
But as the first day of the school year dawns, everything begins to change, as a dragon falls from the sky and she meets new faces that might just become lifelong friends. And as she begins to realize, something even stranger than that is beginning to emerge - from within her. Otherworldly music echoes in her heart, and the impossible Pokémon she's dreamed of all her life suddenly seem much too real. Helia has good reason to be afraid, and yet... this change is a chance, too. It's a chance to break her chains, to become the flower she's always been meant to be. That chance is left to Helia to seize - but not, perhaps, without a little help along the way.

Summary
Helia Brillante is an autistic trans girl freshly arrived in Paldea and a student of Uva Academy to be, whose last year of school in Opelucid City and subsequent unwilling, disastrous coming out to her father nearly broke her spirit forever. As her first day of school at Uva Academy begins, Helia embarks upon a journey - a path on which she'll face love, grief, and the crystalline secrets that lurk within her dreams. For as summer ends and fall comes upon Paldea, far more than the season is about to change, and right at the heart of it all is Helia Brillante.

Summary
It was a chilly winter day when she drifted back to a beach that had once been the highlight of her life. The ocean was dark, waves high and yet Zoey was reminded of summer. Of a long braid and a crooked grin and sharp features with a hidden smile.
Fourteen, falling in love with the ocean, making friends that were supposed to be forever. And for three whole summers it had felt like it would be forever. Two girls, the names and faces etched onto glass and safely carried in that place where nostalgia and longing rested.

Summary
When she looked up, she saw Rumi and Zoey standing at another car, doors open. They both got in without any lingering gazes and Mira started to breathe again, though her eyes could see Rumi's tense face in the side mirror.
"I saw them talking to you. Who were they?" Her partner's voice was warm, curious, inviting Mira to share.
Her wrist throbbed like an alarm, and Mira replied, "Don't know. Helped me fill out the paperwork. Didn't get their names."
"How kind of them." Honey in her voice. It made the scrap of paper hidden in Mira's sleeve itch her skin.
Or, Mira meets two women in the emergency room and tries to pass her injuries off as an accident. They see right through her. They become a life line.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"
The look Mira gave her was almost as searing as the sun as she very pointedly took Rumi's hand and lifted her arm, gesturing at her sleeve, "You're in a hoodie."
"I'm comfy!" Honestly she kind of just wanted to lay down.
"Rumi, it's—" Mira squinted up at a sign, "Zoey what's one fifteen F in real temperature numbers?"
"Forty-six or so," Zoey offered, coming in on Rumi's other side. "Rumi, drink some water."
Or, Rumi gets heatstroke and the girls discover she has patterns.
