“No,” Connor said slowly, “Charlie sees this as team-building, not fun.”
“Exactly!” Lysa jumped in. “And besides, she’s still working. She was checking the room for threats the whole time you were by the jukebox.”
Charlie looked surprised.
“What?” Lysa muttered. “I pay attention.”
“Look,” Charlie cut in, “I appreciate your concern, really, but I’m fine. I have fun. I have plenty of fun.”
“Are you trying to convince us, or yourself?” Connor raised an eyebrow at her.
Charlie huffed, “You know what? Fine. You want me to relax? How do you suggest I do it?”Lysa thinks Charlie needs to calm down, so she sets out on a mission to help Charlie relax. Unfortunately--or fortunately?--she realizes a few things about herself along the way, including that her feelings for the Guardian might be deeper than she originally thought.
