Summary
Dante doesn't know why he bothered dragging his sorry ass back from Hell, but at least he got to meet his nephew. And wasn't that just a kick in the gut, that Vergil had moved on with his life, hadn't suffered from the same emptiness and longing as Dante during the year between their reunion and Temen-ni-gru. Now truly alone, he wastes his days passing up jobs he could care less about while secretly longing for a the next world ending catastrophe, hoping that maybe the next one will be enough to finally put him down for good. So when some new evil stirs, he ignores it like everything else, until a demon invokes the one thing guaranteed to bring out the worst in Dante....Vergil. Now he must survive a journey though the worst moments of both their lives for the slim chance at bringing him back.

Summary
The first thing Vergil felt when he tore his eyes open was the wetness on his cheeks. It seemed as if he could not get enough air, and he heaved for breath. His heart beat loudly in his ears and together with a high beeping formed a very own symphony of terror that spread through his veins. The darkness of the room seemed to close in around him and there was something holding him down, shackles, binding his limbs keeping him from moving, from fighting back, from ending his pain- in a rush of panic, Vergil forcefully threw his blanket across the room, where it hit the wall with a dull thud.
Swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, Vergil put his head in his hands and let the tears flow silently, hating himself for his weakness.

Summary
The thing is, Vergil barely knows anything about being a good brother— in fact, he wouldn’t be surprised if Dante had disowned him as such, given, well, everything.
He’s never been an empathetic person. He is, by all means, unsuitable for emotional connections, even with his own blood.
So of course, he fears he knows even less about being a father.
Or: After returning from Hell, Vergil tries.
