Summary
The soulmark wasn't actually illegible, Xie Lian insisted to anyone who asked. Every time, he was met with a look of bemusement somewhere between pity and disbelief. It really wasn't, though! Only at first glance was it impossible to read. And second glance. And third. Actually, to be completely honest, Xie Lian had only figured out what it was supposed to say about a century after it appeared.
