Summary
He’s missed him so badly, has dedicated the last twenty years of his life to learning how to keep on living through the pain and the mourning, and Vergil is just oblivious to it. He doesn’t understand why Dante would even mourn him to begin with, has always been selfish, wrapped up in his self-sacrificing bullshit. The tension makes Dante feel wound up so tight he thinks he might snap in half.
(Dante third person POV, can be read alone but does follow the first two in this series. Dante and Vergil continue down the long, difficult path of dealing with their feelings and reconciling their past. The porn is secondary to the feelings, but there is definitely a good serving of both.)

“I ordered pizza.” Trish said, showing Dante the white box. “Everything on it, except olives. Your favorite.”
There was a hint of surprise and the ghost of a sad smile on the red twin's lips.
“Ha, thanks but… I’m not really hungry right now.” The hunter muttered as he let his eyes close again and shifted slightly, his head coming back to bury itself in his pillow.
“Please, you need to eat something. Anything. Just tell me what you’d like and I’ll go get it for you. Please, Dante.” The demoness begged him, unused to feel so helpless.
“I’m good, thanks. “ Dante murmured and he drifted back to his dreams, running away from real-life.
Trish sat in silence on the bedside, watching with growing desperation as the red twin went back to sleep.
What could you do, when you were trying to save someone that didn’t want to be saved ?

“I already hurt someone today. I can’t hurt anyone else....“ Dante murmured, the fear that he might grow dangerous to his own family felt like barbed wire around his heart.
“It won’t come to this.” Vergil said as he came to stand right before him and the red twin could feel his anger roil off him in waves.
“You’re sure you really want to help me ? I’m not sure I deserve it.” The legendary hunter huffed, feeling angry and scared.
“You promised that you would “make it up” to me. “ Vergil unexpectedly answered and Dante looked at him, confused. He nodded, not sure where this was going but he really intended to keep his word.
“Then, I’ll make you a promise as well. ” Vergil said as he looked him straight in the eyes. “I’m not giving up on you. Whatever this is, you’ll be alright, Dante.”

Dante gets cursed on a job. His anger is spiralling out of control until he ends up hurting the people he holds most dear.
When the situation becomes critical the red half-devil is ready to do anything to save his family. Whatever the price, he's ready to pay it.But Vergil isn't going to give up on him that easily.
