“Sorry?” She looks at his wounded shoulder incredulously. “Whatever for?”
For your sleepless nights, he thinks. For the way you look at the Master Sword. For the bruises on your knees when you pray for too long and I don’t know how to make you stop. For letting your father treat you the way he does. For being such a coward.

Hyrule sends a delegation to Zora’s Domain to discuss trade. Princess Mipha is part of the greeting party, but instead of the ambassadors she is supposed to be welcoming, it is a little Hylian boy and his parents that capture her interest.
Aka: Mipha and Link meet for the first time, where Mipha is a teenager (the Zora equivalent to one, anyway) and Link is 4 years old.

I thought too much about what might’ve been going on pre calamity and accidentally wrote a short novel instead of a oneshot. Expect angst, sadness, and some cute friendship moments that might end up making the ending we all know even sadder.
