Summary

The Order is in shambles, spread too thin to keep their numbers viable enough to fight against Voldemort’s Death Eaters. Some have fled while others have vanished including Hermione Granger.
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, adrift in a sea of despair, have been tasked by Kingsley to track down the rest of the Horcruxes. As the war approaches a pinnacle, their time so to wanes as the hunters become the hunted.

Now, three years later, her perfect life doesn't' seem so perfect anymore. Everything has turned upside down and thanks to her friends, both new and old, she knows she'll be okay.

Prompt: The Durdle Door
Word Count: 1000Draco falls into trouble, and Hermione takes it upon herself to save him.
I was more so inspired by the rock structure than the location itself. I immediately felt drawn to the Little Mermaid, so I modeled this after that in a way. Hermione is more so a siren in this with some physical attributes to the mermaids seen in the fourth movie. I wrote this in a fever dream as a way to distract myself from my divorce, so please enjoy!

Hermione has thrown herself into her work at the Ministry fighting for creatures with no voice. She lands herself into some hot water after jinxing a fellow employee and is sentenced to a mandated list of hobbies to choose from in the hopes that she'll find something that relaxes her. There's a fat chance it will work, but she gives it her best. After exhausting everything, she has one more task to try before she gives up and is forced to take two weeks off.
OR
Hermione jinxes McLaggen for a sexist comment so she gets a list of tasks to perform. She tries-and hates-them all, until she discovers Draco Malfoy has some secrets of his own and is extremely talented with his hands.

She’s intrigued by his growth and when they’re put on cases together, it becomes impossible to not be drawn into his orbit.
But when secrets and their pasts catch up to them, can Hermione find it in herself to forgive him or will she walk away from a love she only dreamed about?
Based VERY loosely around my short story*, Leather and Lace, this book spans a year in which Hermione and Draco learn to navigate life through love and healing.
* You don't have to read it to understand aspects of this story, but it's a fun POV through Draco's eyes.“You were a victim too, Draco,” she whispered. He brought his head down to meet hers. She stayed silent and still, letting their breath mingle, letting him ground her. Her heartbeat wildly in her chest and the words she could no longer hold back fell out of her like a burst dam.
