Summary
Life in Camelot has been hard after Morgana's betrayal, but when new snow covers the fields and the castle halls get a little too stuffy, Merlin convinces Arthur to go on a trip to unwind in the wintry beauty. Little does he know that since it's the Winter Solstice, his magic is significantly weakened, leaving him with no protection when bandits attack them. Worse, a snowstorm arrives, cutting them away from Camelot and any proper medical equipment.
Now, it is up to Arthur and the knights to save Merlin and make sure he stays warm.

Summary
It's Yule in Camelot and that means Arthur and Merlin getting into their annual gift giving contest.
Only this year, with Arthur knowing about Merlin's magic, and them being together, they both can go all out.
And so the contest commences with them each trying to outdo each other.
Until disaster strikes, And Merlin gives Arthur a gift he will never be able to match.

“I don’t like this river. Have you heard of the creek in Elmet, near the old temple? The one that looks shallow, but is deep and treacherous with invisible caverns, sharp rocks and a current that pulls you under to your watery death in seconds, if you take one wrong step? I think we’re faced with quite the same thing here. Can we not just cross at a different stretch?”
“Merlin, that is complete and utter nonsense. I can see the ground from here.” Arthur pointed to the brook, and yes, the water was clear and shallow, almost invitingly so. The longer Merlin looked at it, the more panicked his magic curled itself against the barriers of his skin.
i.e. Merlin can’t catch a break. At least not the normal way.
