Someone doesn’t do that without routinely having gone through more than they could cope with.”Ever since Bren was 18, life has been hell. He's tried to escape it so many times, and failed with each attempt, until he finally succeeded. He knows heading into the unknown, whatever it is, is better than what he left behind. But he doesn't get peaceful darkness like he expected, or to see the family he's longed to apologize to for fifteen years. He's still here. Still trapped, just in a different way.
At least the people and spirits at The Blooming Grove Funeral Home are welcoming and kind. Far better than many of his housemates in the various institutions he'd gone through. His new housemates at the Grove are friendly, if not a little chaotic, but they make him feel wanted for the first time in many years.

He recognized the purpose of the wrap fairly quickly, thinking of the times in recent years where he had to wrap his own injured joints while unable to afford a health potion. And when the Shadowhand graciously taught him a couple dunamancy spells in exchange for future favors, this revelation led to Caleb piecing together the purpose of the metal around each of Essek’s fingers, Caleb watching them closely as the other caster demonstrated his spell. They were splints.

Summary
Essek has barely begun to cement his place in Caleb’s life when they bring Mollymauk Tealeaf back from the dead. Slowly, the three of them adapt together.
He would have scoffed at this, once upon a time. But now he kisses Caleb with something close to reckless abandon, breaking boundaries between the three of them again as Caleb has Mollymauk pinned to the bed, and Essek is leaning over him to kiss their wizard in question.
The three of them are well and truly connected. Light, he should be uncertain, but he is not.

Summary
The screams all sound the same
When John Watson returns from Afghanistan, nothing is the same. His mother is dead, his sister is addicted to alcohol, his father is at the end of his rope and he is in the middle of it. That's why his psychiatrist sends him to a clinic where he is supposed to learn how to deal with his trauma.
His roommate there behaves strangely. He is emotionless, never smiles and moves strangely. And he doesn't speak. No one knows what is wrong with him.
John tries to blend in at the clinic. He doesn't want to give his panic attacks another chance to surface.
