  1. Summary

One day, Sam finds a magic closet in his room in the bunker. He uses it to travel back in time to fix mistakes he made in the past, to check on his brother, and to bring home other versions of himself and Dean. It's mostly complete, but there are always room for more storylines with this kind of trope, so.

  3. Summary

In an alternate timeline, a hundred years in the past, humans are on the defensive in a world overrun by supernatural creatures. Part 1 is a coming-of-age story in which Dean grows up on the family farm with his foster-brother after his mother deserts them when Dean was four (and Mary was secretly pregnant with Sam). In part 2, Sam and Dean reunite after a six-year separation to go in search of Mary and answers to the meaning of Dean's visions. Part 3 has the boys reunite again to travel through the damaged western countryside, empty of human life, to help their mother take down the demon that cursed her family.

    Summary

“Dean.” Someone says, loud and breathless.

Dean turns around. There’s a kid standing there, looking at Dean, then at the girl. He’s tall—Dean doesn’t often have to tilt his head up to look at people but he can tell he will for this guy—with shaggy brown hair and wide eyes. Dean looks at the blonde girl next to him.

“Sweetheart,” Dean says, raising his eyebrow. “You are way out of this guy’s league.”

Or: After a witch hunt, Dean is cursed to lose his memories of Sam. With Sam gone at Stanford, Dean doesn’t even notice. Sam does, though.

My comment: What an amazing story! I couldn’t put it down, so I read it too fast and now I need to go back and reread it, then hold onto it so I can reread it again. I love this trope, and your execution is PERFECT. I love that you set it right before the events of the Pilot, making me think about how things will change for them going forward, which is a deep, angsty pleasure. And Pumpci’s art! Holy crap, that’s some good shit! Amazing all round, this. Thank you thank you for making my week. I’ll be thinking about this and rereading many times. It’s so satisfying!

    Bookmarker's Notes

Christmas story — lots of love and anguish, just like the Winchesters. And time travel! Why is it always so satisfying to read about them loving each other in various time periods? It just is. This is one of the best of those kinds of stories, for sure.

    Summary

Cranky?! Dean's not cranky; he's spitting-nails furious, filled with the kind of incandescent rage that makes him want to shove his fist into someone's abdomen and rip out their spleen. You know, the kind you feel when you realize your asshole brother has edited himself out of your mind and wiped a few months' worth of memories from your head in the process.

    Again.

Alt-pre-season fic featuring BoyKing!Sam who has more control over his powers than canon, wiping people’s memories ala Andy Gallagher but oh man when it comes to his dad and Dean things get so emotionally charged. Well-written and gripping as all hell. Definitely deserves a re-read! Hoping for sequels.

    Summary

It almost tastes like blood, like copper, the strain he can feel, and he has no idea which one of them it’s coming from. Maybe both. Maybe there’s no difference anymore.

To cure Dean from the Mark of Cain, Sam has to let Dean, in all his demonic glory, possess him for 28 days. It goes about as well as expected.

“Like a Ghost With Two Voices” by Dyed_Red. This is the demon-Dean-possesses-Sam story I never knew I wanted. Dark, angsty, devastating, and well-written. Post-possession, Dean understands his brother in ways he never would have if he hadn’t possessed him, not least that Sam actually likes being possessed.

My comment: Leaving Las Vegas by fictionallemons. Aw, you gave them their happy ending! I know you promised to do so in the tags, but I worried right along with Sam. He was so persistent about finding out what had happened to them, worrying about consent, concerned that whatever was missing from their memories would change things just when they seemed too perfect (or was that Dean? Sounds more like Dean!) Anyway, I really enjoyed this treatment of one of my favorite fanfic tropes and have bookmarked it so I can find it to read again!
