Set fifteen years post‑game, in a world where therapy works, rehabilitative justice exists, and the economy has evolved faster than Garden ever will.
Ironbridge Mutual Insurance (Dollet) sends “Mr. Hadley” to Balamb Garden for a routine insurance review. Unfortunately, “Mr. Hadley” is Seifer Almasy — finally functional (not redeemed), heavily therapized, and gainfully employed — but nothing about this visit is routine. Least of all running into one Quistis Trepe, who absolutely should not recognise him but absolutely does.

Summary
Set 20 years post-game, the final resident of the peaceful South Centran refuge built and stewarded by Quistis is revealed to be the long-lost fallen knight she had given up for dead. Within the walls of Inglenook, they ruminate on their regrets and grievances, both privately and together; as time slips by they realise they have come to depend upon one another in their now shared life, having obtained some semblance of absolution and harmony along the way. When Seifer's presence is discovered and her old friends and comrades call for him to face justice for his past crimes, Quistis has a choice to make. A slow-paced story that gently meanders along with the changing seasons towards a long-overdue happy ending for these two characters.
