    Summary

"You know, Vash," Wolfwood says slowly, letting his name roll off his tongue languidly. "I still think you owe me for my services. The lollipop, too."

"I don't have any money." Vash swallows.

"I'm not asking for money," Wolfwood says. He presses in closer, applying more pressure on Vash’s thigh. Pushing himself into his vicinity, their chests touching, lips only a hairsbreadth apart. "Though, I think you already knew that."

Vash’s blue eyes, appearing a shade darker as his pupils blow out, fall to Wolfwood’s lips.

"I'm not sure I know what you mean."

"You like my touch, Vash," Wolfwood says, "No, you're starved for it."

Or /// Vash is the sun, and Wolfwood can't help but want to feel his warmth even if he gets burned in the process.

On a good day, Wolfwood cursed and Vash shot something that was not a person and they got drinks after. On a bad day, one or both of them bled. He supposed it had only been a matter of time until their lucky streak ran out.

Wolfwood takes a bullet for Vash. No one is happy about it.

Vash the Stampede is indestructible until he isn't.

    Wolfwood picks up the pieces.

(Wolfwood gathers every single broken fragment he can find, painstakingly glues them back together, and wills them—Vash—to just stay put for once, dammit.)

    Summary

Wolfwood eases him back down into the bed. Runs a hand through his own hair, digging his nails in just to feel the burn because he’s seriously starting to think he’s bitten off more than he can chew.

“You idiot,” he breathes into the open air, “I’m goin’ to kill you when you wake up.”

If the sickness doesn’t get to him first. But that thought goes unspoken.

(Or, Vash gives too much of himself away, and Wolfwood is left to pick up the pieces.)
