“Hello, darling.” He bends down, until he can just brush his lips against theirs. Tav’s breath flutters, soft as butterfly wings, against his skin. When they try to lean up to deepen the kiss, Astarion draws away, and laughs at the pout he gets for his actions.
He glances up to see Halsin sitting calmly at the end of the bed, smiling at the two of them. A little thrill of embarrassment runs through him, but it's quick enough to bury under familiar charm.
“Well druid?” He drawls, tilting his head to show off the long line of his neck. “Don't you have something you should be doing?”
Halsin grins outright at that and laughs deep in his chest.
“My apologies. I'll get right to that.”

Summary
As soon as the first notes began to play, a rapid hush came over the space, as more and more spawn became aware of the unusual display. The air itself seemed frozen for several moments, a collectively held breath (not that they needed to breathe to begin with). Tav’s eyes remained closed, as they played a peaceful melody- a song Aurelia could vaguely recall hearing before but couldn't quite place now.
Deleted scene from chapter one of 'seems like all i'm worth is what i'm able to withstand' main fic. Can be read as a standalone.

“He is ashamed of what he is.” Raphael’s tone was casual, but Astarion felt some thin veil of safety slip to the floor. “Or should I say, he is ashamed of what you made him?”
“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.” Astarion drained his glass. His mouth felt dry; the wine didn’t help.
----Dressing up and pretending to be Cazador's wife isn't a particularly good or honest life, but at least it gave Astarion the freedom to explore his fascination with men. When a handsome stranger with dangerous connections shows up at The Crimson Palace on a night when Cazador's away on business, Astarion realizes his charade might be more of a cage than a release.
