When he turned 18, Wen Ruohan introduced the next aspect of his training: the art of sex education. He had engaged momos – knowledgeable older servants – to teach Wei Wuxian. And oh, what an enlightening journey it had been.
It turned out that Wen Ruohan had good foresight, for Wei Wuxian was now the perfect solution to prevent war between the two clans. His long acknowledged status as Wen Ruohan’s ward rendered him as an acceptable match to marry the second heir of the Lan clan.
His marriage into the Lan clan would serve as a living hostage, a guarantee that Wen Ruohan would not move against them. Wei Wuxian’s ghost cultivation was also kept a secret; to the Lans he only appeared as a harmless bride – a political pawn with no real power.
Wen Ruohan, too, also stood to gain from the arrangement – a rare chance to plant someone into the Lan clan. And so the wedding between Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian was decided and arranged.

Wei Wuxian never would have believed he was a cut-sleeve until he met a man as good as Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji was one of the best men Wei Wuxian has ever known; always going where there was chaos, helping those in need, being virtuous, righteous, and always the most beautiful man in Wei Wuxian’s eye. He knew he was blessed to have a husband as wonderful as Hanguang-Jun, who spoiled him with affection anytime Wei Wuxian whined for it.
Wei Wuxian wasn’t the jealous type. Even when others tended to overlook him, their attention focusing on his gorgeous Hanguang-Jun, trying to get him for themselves, Wei Wuxian never felt jealous. Lan Wangji’s constant attention and adoration for him made him feel secure and loved, never doubting their dedication to each other. It irritated him when people ignored their relationship, solely based on them both being men, and treated Lan Wangji like he was still an available bachelor, but no, Wei Wuxian wasn’t jealous. He only hoped that he managed to show his husband just how much he loved him in return. Anyone with eyes could see that they were together, they were perfect for one another. They all could see that Wei Wuxian loved Lan Wangji just as much as the other. Right?

Summary
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were arranged to be married due to political alliance. The Lan sect does not treat Wei Ying properly. Lan Zhan is just being an obedient Lan and does not do anything. So Wei Ying leaves the Lan sect and makes a life for himself away from them leaving Lan Zhan to regret.
