Summary
There were certain moments in a man's life when it seemed like he couldn't possibly hit anything lower than rock bottom. Then Hank found fucking bedrock.
Hank Anderson stumbled out of his cab, squinting at the obnoxiously bright neon sign overhead casting its pink, soft glow over the wet pavement. He didn't know the specifics of how he arrived here, but he must have called a cab and decided that he didn't want to go home but he wanted to go somewhere. Usually that meant finding another bar, but tonight the alcohol just wasn't enough. Booze could numb him, sure, but it couldn't do anything about the gnawing loneliness. Hank hadn't had anyone in his bed since- well. For a while, anyway. Jerking it in the shower before dragging himself to work every day only did so much.
(i.e. in which Hank Anderson tries to have sex with an android at the Eden Club, and it goes precisely not at all the way he expected.)

Summary
Hank is 53 years old. He's never had a soul mark, doesn't have a soul mate. And he's fine with that. He cheated the system once and it cost him everything he had. Never again.
When August 2038 rolls around and the number '313 248 317 - 51' appears on his arm in perfect Cyberlife Sans font, exactly where a soul mark should be, Hank wants nothing to do with it.

Summary
Logically, Connor should have noticed something was different after the moment of his deviancy, after he consciously chose not to shoot Markus, but he truly didn’t notice it until months later, as he watched, in absolute interest, as Hank typed something on his computer across from him at his desk.
Or: In which Connor simultaneously experiences an emotional and sexual awakening in the wake of his deviancy and handles it in the best way he can. By not telling anyone.

Summary
“You need a last name, Connor. You can always change it later—even humans do that—but to finish the process, we need something for now.”
Connor doesn’t really think before answering. He’d intentionally left the box blank because he didn’t know what to put in the moment. He doesn’t especially see why it matters, anyway, not like he has any legacy to carry on. He’d considered, as he interfaced with the terminal, using Stern or Kamski, but both thoughts made his stomach churn.
Now, though, faced with Markus’ earnestness, the answer rolls easily off Connor’s tongue.
“Anderson. Connor Anderson.”
Or, Connor takes Hank's last name. He does not tell Hank about this little development.
