Set during the events of Assassin's Creed (2007)After the disaster at Solomon's Temple, Malik cannot even look at Altaïr without feeling his blood boil because of what was lost that day. Altaïr feels guilty, but frustrated that Malik won't even give him a chance to redeem himself to him or the Brotherhood.
Yet due to less than ideal circumstances, the two assassins slowly begin to understand each other and realize just how shattered and broken they really are. With each of Altaïr's visits to the Jerusalem Bureau, he and Malik grow closer and eventually uncover secrets about themselves and the Brotherhood.
But they say ignorance is bliss, and perhaps some secrets should be left in the dark. Trust is hard to gain from someone who hurt you.

Summary
Malik did not hate Altair because he was rich, handsome, famous (for nothing), athletic or apparently charming (to women). No, Malik hated Altair because he was a sexist pig with a perpetual audience that was influencing a whole generation of tweens to think it was perfectly okay to say whatever dick thing came into their heads. That was why he started his blog; he just didn’t count on Altair finding it or becoming it’s number one fan.
