Summary
This alternate story begins after Shadow and Bone Season 1 Episode 5. As with many of you, I was heartbroken to see the end of Darklina. Aleksander created the Fold to save Grishas and his mother. He created it accidentally when he was backed into a corner. After centuries of power, revenge, and being told the creator of the Fold was “The Black Heretic”, he became “the villain”. He could have found peace again with Alina. If Darklina was endgame, it would have made such a better story. This alternate ending is the story I hope for in the Grishaverse.

His savior is a young woman from the village that does not look as if she has two copper pieces to rub together. But she does have a proposal that may save his life. A marriage proposal. By the laws of Asgard this act absolves him of his crimes…so long as he remains married.
