The circus has returned to a better state than when it was first developed by C&A, and Caine has given full control to the rest of the cast. Things are looking up!
But...there are still many-a-problem left unsolved: namely, the abstractions, the trauma, things unforgiven, things left unsaid.
Consequences unfairly stolen away by time.Without a means of reversing Abstraction, new guests to the circus are left vulnerable. It's up to the cast to take a shot at rescuing abstracted members, if they want future circusgoers to have even the slightest chance at truly enjoying all that the circus has to offer. A sigh of happiness rippled through the group. Ribbit cracked a smile. "Yep."
"Oh, thank jesus," Kaufmo groaned, relaxing. He wasn't quite ready to let Jax go, still.
Jax unwound his hands from around Ribbit's neck. They were shaking.
He held Ribbit's gaze, unflinching. Her eyes were kind, friendly... happy.
"Welcome back." The ceiling lights shining behind her made Jax think of a halo. It was ridiculous.
Jax slowly reached up, doing as she had, and feeling her face. Smooth, squishy textures greeted his touch.
Ribbit was still smiling.
Jax started to hyperventilate.
