He’d intended to help him to the bed, but midway through the living room, Shen Wei lists dangerously to one side. Zhao Yunlan half-lowers him to the couch, half-allows his knees to buckle.
The impact forces a pained grunt past Shen Wei’s self-control. Still, he sits there with better posture than Zhao Yunlan has ever had, and smiles up at him. “Thank you. Stop looking so worried, I’m fine.”
Or: after rescuing Shen Wei from Dixing, Zhao Yunlan takes care of him. It takes some doing.
