Summary
As George wondered what had happened, he noticed the faint sound of a child crying.
Now, it could have been nothing. His hearing hadn’t been the same since he lost his ear after all. The twin wasn’t going to risk getting that wrong though.
George quickly turned to look in the alleyway next to him. He stepped inside, and the sound stopped immediately. He frowned, making his way to look behind a dumpster. When he turned the corner of it, the twin was immediately met with the sight of a little girl, her wide eyes staring up at him.

BOOM!!
There was a loud, earthshaking sound that made George’s eardrums feel like they were going to explode. He was pushed forward and he landed headfirst into the pond.
His head hit something rough under the water. A stinging pain started on his forehead. Ow.
George must have blacked out for a moment before he sat up, coughing and sputtering. His head hurt and his ears were ringing quite harshly. The world looked like a fuzzy mess.
When George finally managed to focus, he saw Fred and Percy next to him looking just as lost as him. He groaned and held his head. Something sticky was dripping from his forehead. He didn’t take the time to process it though as he caught a glimpse of the house.
The Burrow was in flames.

Summary
At the end of the book, it lists possible ways for people to move on from a traumatic experience. One of them that didn’t require me telling anyone, was writing it down.
That leads me to where I am now. I’m hesitant to start, because the thought that someone could find this journal and read it is terrifying. The thought of becoming who did this to me is even more terrifying though.
So, I’ll tell you. I’ll write it all down, and maybe I’ll burn this when it’s all over. I definitely won’t want to reread this in the future anyways.

This was supposed to be a redo. An opportunity served to Stella on a golden platter. A chance to help those who kept her up at night so that the both of them could rest easy knowing that Stella had given them the help she needed. Particularly her uncle, who left without a trace.
The night that she brought him on board, Stella promised herself that she'd lay him down to rest and give him the closure that they both deserved. He doesn't mention his death and she doesn't dare to ask.

“How do I know?” The kid spits, knife raised again, trembling violently. His eyes are wet, angry and pleading and piercing right down into Grian’s soul.
“...If I can fly?” Grian asks, confused. His heart is beating fast.
The boy shakes his head violently, taking a lurching step forward, now only a few feet away. Something about his eyes almost seems familiar, but the thought is fleeting. The knife looks sharp. The child is crying, slow tears that barely have an effect on his voice.
“No,” the kid says forcefully. “How do I know you’re not a zombie?”

Summary
There were rumors, quickly squashed by the island kingdom, that the Prince of Ithaca had grown wings on his feet when he was a boy. There were rumors that he had wings elsewhere too; on his back and behind his ears. They were squashed even quicker. Anyone who could get a look at the prince could see that his body was not adorned in feathers of any kind.
None of them knew, and Ithaca’s royal family planned to keep it that way. Fearing that this problem of unknown origin (curse or yet another divine being’s fling with a mortal) would be seen as an insult to the gods and bring down their wrath. Odysseus has grown used to having to cut down or hide the extra appendages, but the struggle only grew when he was forced into the Trojan War.
Now, with the war at its end and his fleet ready to return home, he only has one thing on his mind; getting back to his wife and son.
OR
An alternate universe where Hermes's relation to one particular Greek hero becomes a bit more prominent, and he suddenly has a much better reason to help Odysseus on his journey home.

The fact that his father was very much alive, although long missing, was only part of the reason they’d never get to marry her. She was above them, perfect in every way, and Telemachus would do anything to save her from a loveless, very likely abusive, marriage from any of these dogs. Absolutely anything.
