Summary
After the sudden death of his mother, Reki Kyan and what remains of his family pack up and move down to his father's hometown - a small town in Canada. The world is cold and flat and colorless, until Reki meets a strange, scatterbrained boy with a bright smile, brighter hair, and a talent for something that didn't really exist in Okinawa - snowboarding.

“Hirose,” Nakamura gulped, “why, why did you make this?”
Hirose paused, fork still in his mouth. His expression softened, his cheeks a little red.
“Secret.” He mumbled.
The school's PA system announced something from the Home Economics faculty. They encouraged students to bake and share their baked goods with friends, or even loved ones, though that last part was a tease more than anything.
Nakamura was determined to give something to Hirose. There was only one problem. Where the heck was Hirose?!

“That came out nice, don’tcha think Hiragi?” Umemiya was holding something small and rectangular in his hand, waving it around rapidly before shoving it in Hiraigi’s face. He didn’t wait for an answer, “I think it’s very nice. Our Sakura is so photogenic.”
Equal parts embarrassment and shame pooled in Sakura’s chest, his face heating up on reflex. He was the opposite of photogenic, but Umemiya’s grin only widened.
“Here.” Umemiya offered him the rectangle, holding up a placating hand just as Sakura was about to shout. “It’ll help you understand how we see you.”
