Summary
Technoblade has been alone for a long time, even before his magic backfired on him and turned him into a beast. He was never expecting to see the formation of a new, unbroken portal, much less the creature that stepped out of it.
Phil has been around for a while, moving from world to world, building things that most people would only ever dream of. He wasn't expecting to come face to face with a pink-haired hoglin on his first trip to the nether in his newest world.

By the time that he had gotten out, Tommy hadn't seen the outside world without a window in the way since he had nearly died at Murmurance's hand. He had missed it.
The moment he had finally been left alone, he had been out. He had waited for as long as it took him to pack some of his clothes into a backpack, grab a stash of cash that the three kept in a hidden drawer, and he ran.
One city had kept him on his toes. Two cities had let him relax marginally for a while.
Three cities, four months, and two failed jobs was what it took to start reminding him of how kind the three villains had been during his stay.

Summary
There were many things that Techno expected to see in his sitting room. Perhaps an exhausted Phil crashed on his couch after a painfully long flight. Maybe an assassin come to try their hand at taking his head again. Maybe one of his old handlers, from the life that he was so desperately trying to forget.
None of those were what he was presented with.
Instead it was a small, shivering bundle curled up under the cloak he hadn’t noticed was missing from its spot, a fire that he hadn’t started burning in the fireplace. It was small enough to perhaps be a wolf, one of the viciously smart things that had followed him home before. If it weren’t for the latent magic rolling off of the thing, he might’ve believed it. But no – whatever had found its way into his home was magical, and powerful as hell, too.

Tommy didn't dare to move as Philza descended down the stairs and stopped in front of him; didn't even blink when a hand – surprisingly gentle, despite being too close to the fluttering vein in Tommy's neck – tilted his chin up.
"We've spent so much time looking for you," he murmured in awe, as if he was looking at some miracle and couldn't quite believe it. "After eighteen years, my son is finally home."
