"What makes someone a good person?"
It’s a silly question, meant for philosophical debates between pompous college students and writing prompts in sixth grade English, but Five cannot shake the feeling that it is one that will haunt him for a very, very long time. He does not mean to ask it - but then again, he does not mean for a lot of things to happen.
Vanya is quiet. Five watches her stare down at her fingernails, studying them like they hold the secrets to the universe.
"I think," she finally says, so softly he has to strain to hear it, "that I don’t know."
If it was anyone else saying that, Five would scoff, roll his eyes, sarcastically thank them for contributing so much to the conversation. But it isn’t anyone else. It’s Vanya. Sweet, mild-mannered Vanya, who has also directly and indirectly caused the end of the world two separate times. Out of all his siblings, she is probably the only one who understands what he is truly asking, and cannot answer it either.
How do I know I’m a good person?

Summary
Butcher has always been unpredictable.
This time it's a little different.
“Can I touch you?” Butcher asks, growls, purrs or something because it’s dark and heady and rough and it makes things in Hughie’s brain stutter and stall and smoke.
“What?” Hughie asks intelligently, hand frozen on Butcher’s where he’s failing to remove the other man.
“Can. I. Touch. You?” Butcher asks, again, that roughness in his tone getting even deeper.
“Isn’t that,” Hughie tries, “I mean what do you mean,” Hughie goes for again, “You are fucking touching me,” is where Hughie ends up.
“Can I,” Butcher barely whispers, not so much as moving, not flexing a finger or a hand or a muscle, “touch you?”

Summary
Hughie knows nothing about the new neighbour, apart from the fact that he’s aggressively good looking. He’s all dark crisp lines and danger emanates from him like a cloud.
“Billy Butcher,” he says, with some kind of cockney accent, shaking his hand with an overly firm handshake.
Hughie arches an eyebrow.
“Is that a nickname?” he says.
The alliteration and the general violence of the name does not generally bode well for the safety of Hughie’s hand and other body parts.
“Something like that,” says Butcher, with a feral grin that has just a touch too many teeth in it.
