Summary
Despite representing one of the core member planets of the Federation, not much is known by pan-Federation, non-Vulcan academics and social scientists about the connection between Vulcan telepathy and the expression of sexuality. Through exploring several avenues of Vulcan psionic connection, the relationship between telepathy and sexuality is made apparent, and attempts to expand non-Vulcans’ understanding of the Vulcan psyche grows. The information contained within this article offers a jumping off point for further research on the topic by beginning to define some of the linguistic interrelatedness of telepathic and sexual terms within the Vulcan language, as well as by starting an investigation into common psionic acts which correspond with states of sexual arousal, excitement, and pleasure. Vulcan cultural studies continues to be an ever-expanding field of analysis within xenoanthropology, and as both psionics and sexuality take a prominent role in Vulcan society, new avenues of connection between the two will no doubt become even more important as more information on both subjects becomes known. This article represents a foundation for those wishing to further expand this area of analysis.

An away mission involving Lieutenant Uhura, First Officer Spock, Dr. McCoy and a dark cave almost entirely derails when a monstrous caterpillar kidnaps Uhura and something starts to psionically attack them. Just when Spock called out to Dr. McCoy to let him shield him, however, the doctor would not comply. Spock, troubled at the fact that the doctor’s paranoia of the first officer's psionic abilities nearly got him killed, decides that Dr. McCoy needs to get used to trusting him so the same thing never happens again.
There are two ways to gain the trust of a Human: 1) getting to know them better and 2) spending quality time with them. Spock is ready and willing to do both. With the help of his colleagues, he will rid Dr. McCoy of his paranoia and fulfill the best interests of the Enterprise.
Or: an exploration into a possible cause of Leonard McCoy’s phobic fear of telepathy.
