Summary
Styx Lügner was one of the happiest girls Nebra had ever met. Her amber yellow eyes shined with brightness and her fiery hair bounced with every step she gave. The red gem that hung on her forehead was a reminder of her family line, which, even though she didn't like much, she wore with pride.
On Styx's 15th birthday, she joined the Purple Orcas alongside Xerx. Nebra missed having her around, she cherrished her a lot at her nine years of age. Styx always hung out with that peasant man. Even due to his status, Nebra thought he was cool, and even a cool dad.
But then, in the midst of the happiness, Zara Ideale passed away. Xerx became awfully different, as well as the vice Captain of their squad, engaging in sinful desires he had surpressed far too long. And for the first time in forever, Styx was different. She had a horrible look on her face.
Not much different to Nozel's. No wonder they were best friends.
But they grew apart. They all did. And when Nebra went after her, trying to find out what happened, Styx vanished. Everything she had, was gone in an instant.

Vaude was a house and name paved in blood. Such had been the way of things for as long as Langris could remember.
It didn’t matter if any of them used the dirtiest of tricks to get their way. What was important was surviving, to climb up above the rest and stand at the top. It was what he was raised to believe, was what he had been raised to be.
Langris had fought, bled and killed for his house and family. For his place amongst the best. A prize that had resulted in him paying the hefty price of the few ones he had dear.
And here lying at death’s door, his eyes slowly falling close for the final time, he saw his life for how pathetic it really was.
But never in his wildest dreams did he imagine waking up again to a second chance to do it all over and fix everything.

Leaning forward as if sharing a great trade secret he spoke, “The lord and lady of Tota are deeply troubled during these times. Their lil’, oh so precious, noble heir to their esteemed house met his fate some time ago.”
There were gasps and the conversations at the table came to an abrupt halt.
“What?” Asked Finral aloud, it was the first word he had said all evening.
Nearly everyone at the table turned to stare at him as if only now remembering or noticing his presence. Except the baron who greedily downed the rest of his current glass.
He misheard that. Surely, he must have.

Summary
Langris Vaude believed for months that the brother he had not seen for six years died in a basement at the hands of a rogue fire mage. The body he saw with his parents did not look like Finral, but Xerx Lugner was the vice-captain of the purple orca. If he said it was Finral who died, then there was nothing Langris could do that would prove otherwise.
So, it has been a traumatic couple of days as Langris gets caught in a rock fall, rescued by the Black Bulls almost-rookie and nearly loses his leg. Then he finds his brother has been living with the Bulls, unable to hear or speak after he too was rescued by the Black Bulls almost-rookie months ago. Langris had been right. It had not been Finral's body.
Now Langris has to make sense of what this all means. He needs to talk to some people.
Alternate title: Three conversations Langris Vaude has in the aftermath of Hunted. And one that William Vangeance has that changes more than anyone could foresee.

Finral thought he was fated to be chained to the Castle for the rest of his days, chained to a path that led nowhere but a slow and miserable death. His days would play out as a pretty 'thing' beside his spouse. All while he rotted away on the inside, only his built up numbness as protection.
That seemed to be what fate had in store for him. It was what he expected.
