Summary
With the war over things should find a new normal. But it is not quite. No Ferdinand finds himself struggling. Aegir territory in shambles and trapped in the middle of a war of succession for the title of Emperor following Edelgard's death. It does not feel fair to go back to his lands, take a title in most senses obsolete, without the one he has cared about this whole time.
Flayn is unique. She is soft and sweet and well spoken. She thinks in a way Ferdinand has never, considers the people and those her actions effect and could never run out of compassion. Their sweet embraces behind the back of Seteth and moments together held him together when he turned his lance upon his rival and childhood friend. When all around him fell, she remained. She is what Aegir needs and he knows that is the only way he could come back to his land with any sort of pride; with her at his side, as his wife. But his proposal is declined. Instead he is told one piece of advice."Speak with Seteth." She says. "I cannot tell you all I wish to. But if he does... there is no problem. And then, and only then I will wed you."
Nothing Flayn hides can truly be that damning, but he knows better than to refuse her wishes. And so they plot. -
