Regardless of whether or not he'd previously agreed to hearing Kon's proposal out, he could not have possibly stopped the knee jerk, "Absolutely not." From leaving his mouth.
"You promised!" Kon accused, pointing a finger at him, "You said you'd hear me out properly."

Maki only looks out for the best. Quality over quantity. Seriousness over frivolous conduct.
One day it happens that he realizes that he can't take care of his huge house on his own anymore. Especially not when a breakthrough of a salary increase is knocking on his door. Even though he is not an unorganized person, he simply has no time to dust off his shelves when he is stuck in his twelve-hour shift. The pile of laundry also does not get smaller, nor the dishes.
When Maki picks up his last clean shirt, he gets a sudden stroke of comprehension; it gets more and more serious that he needs help in his house. He is truly reluctant to call his mother for help when he is the boss of his own company. Hiring a maid did indeed cross his mind from the beginning when he moved in, but he is too suspicious towards the idea of letting a stranger in his house when he is away, not to mention letting that person live in the house-staff room.
With that, he wedges himself behind the desk to seek out a serious cleaning company that offers a professional cleaner that is also available to live in his house. He would prefer a guy over a woman...
