Summary
Maya Llewellyn is a fifth year student at Hogwarts shortly after the Great Pandemic that swept through the Federation around 2520. Even though this happens every century, somehow we're never fully prepared, and in its wake Hogwarts is struggling with understaffing problems even before the Federation sees a sudden huge population influx as two major civilizations join at almost the same time. So many new students join the school that they have to form two new Houses. Unfortunately, this doesn't also translate to more teachers, which require a certain amount of skill and/or training to qualify. Not to mention they actually have to apply for the job, not simply be added to the books automatically as students are at age 11. Ms. Llewellyn takes a chance that Headmistress McGonagall is truly desperate enough to hire ANYONE and applies to teach Charms to the younger years. Now she has to plan a syllabus in a day, teach while also studying for her own NEWTs, try to reduce the workload on the other teachers and manage the chaos of far too many magical children in one place, oh and also create a whole new communications network based on the system of paper airplanes she developed during the pandemic. Plus navigating a confusing crush
