Once in the Queendom Asher learns combat and meets a variety of people, including a female elf with a past very similar to his own. Asher wondered how his father was able to convince the Elves to keep him safeguarded and that is when he discovered his family's dark secret. His family had been supplying humans as slaves to the Queendom for generations. Everything truly begins falling apart once the Which of the Tower arrives and Ashers family, back in the human kingdom, starts cracking. Thinking quickly, who better to pin all the family's bad deeds on other than his bastard who has been in the Elves Queendom this whole time.

She swallows hard, “Aleksander.”
He blinks away whatever stupor he worked himself into and manages to say, “How…how are you?”
As if nothing ever happened between them. The absolute nerve of him.
She glares and says, “All of a sudden you care?”
They both decide to do what they should be doing in terms of what is expected of them. The question is whether or not it’s really for the best.
