Both no doubt have hidden intentions, and Prince Jin wants eyes and ears on the scene. Zhou Zishu can't quite bring himself to deny his own ravenous curiosity enough not to accept.
The stunning beauty that shows up with the girls of the Department of the Unfaithful, the one who introduces himself as Wen Kexing, is universally assumed to be a favorite plaything of the yet unseen Ghost Valley Master. His beauty and charm may be enough to captivate all the others into underestimating him, but Zhou Zishu knows a killer's eyes when he sees one. Wen Kexing is a puzzle he'd like to figure out, and Zishu himself can't say he isn't also captivated by dark eyes and a smile that wouldn't be out of place with blood in its teeth.

WWX is Ötzi in pretty (and alive).
One of the rare modern AUs I actually enjoyed. As we discover over the course of the story, WWX still starts out in his original time (though with significant changes to allow for canon characters in the modern day). But instead of getting killed in the aftermath of the war, he gets frozen in ice and discovered again in the modern day. Contains his adaption to the modern day (including the changed language), kidnapping attempts, actual kidnappings, media drama and some lovely action scenes toward the end.

Qi Ding Gui = Ghost of the Seven Nails
Han Ying helps ZZS escape after an accidental reveal of the nails goes wrong. They end up in Ghost Valley. ZZS has to deal with "Daifu", who keeps pestering him, and is involuntarily drawn into the power plays of the ten devils - and comes to the attention of the Guzhu.
I love the exploration of how the society in Ghost Valley could function. The whole (completed!) series is worth a read, but this is the one I come back to most often.

Not a bad strategy, all things considered—if Zhou Zishu could keep him interested, perhaps he could gain some freedom and learn useful information. “In that case, I think I will let you out.” The guzhu leapt over Zhou Zishu to land behind him, and then laughed, louder and wilder than before. “I see I don’t need to let you out at all.”

As a prince he now has to very quickly get a grasp of the political situation, survive his poisoning and his marriage. At least it's to this world's WKX.“Hah.” General Ye looked tired. “That’s the strangest difference between you and the one I knew. You have no ego at all, surgically so. Like you burned it out of yourself, along with things like conscience and moral boundaries. You said the Leitie should be like weapons, but they have nothing on how tempered you are. Wangye, you are the most frightening person I’ve ever met. Knowing that, looking at you with that too-familiar face… do you know how painful it is?”
From the summary I did not expect to like this. But after coming across it in the bookmarks of so many authors I like, I finally gave it a chance. And here we are, a few hours later ...

What they do find is a thriving sect consisting of living, beaming people, a very smug and very happy Wei Wuxian, and a terribly content and – although as perfectly peerless as ususal – very jaded Lan Wangji.

The sects had their grudges, deep-rooted and bitter.
Or, Lan Qiren goes to Yiling to determine whether the information he’s been fed adds up to the reality of it.

Jiang Cheng dies directly before the start of the Sunshot campaign. WWX has to step up as zongzhu and rebuild the Jiang.
This is the one with the demon chicken. Also the one that makes me want to scold Nie Huaisang and hit Lan Xichen.
The ending leaves more unresolved than I really like (and I don't even mean the obvious thing; after all, WWX is good at doing the impossible), but it's satisfying enough. It's just that a lot of things are introduced very late in the story. It feels a bit as if there was supposed to be another arc of which only some condensed parts remain. When not in the mood for that, the end of chapter 44 is a pretty good place to stop.
