Loop had given up and was ready to let go, only to be yanked backstage and watch. They'd helped and observed, and they saw the spiderweb cracks appear over their reflection and the world almost break. They'd been ready to tell their family everything only to see on their faces that they didn't recognize them. They're this stardust's family, not theirs not theirs not theirs.
And the loops break. They watch their successor do what they hadn't been able to do. And they're. Still. Here.
They'd been punched lower and lower and lower and lower.
Anger is a very logical reaction. They've been grieving longer than they'd been Loop, but the stages aren't usually in order. They've been in denial. They've bargained. They've fallen into a pit of despair and gave up. They're not yet in a place where they can accept. They deserve to be angry first.

I love the stark black and white for this and just the utter chaos as Siffrin stands almost calmly. Accepting. They know what's happening. He knows how Loop feels. He may not have gone through exactly what they had (they got his happy ending, after all), but they've learned alot about themself. He knows himself better and knows Loop better.
And it's their turn to be the anchor, even if only for this short amount of time.

I love the scribbliness of their hair and hat and the outer edges of their hat's brim and cloak. I love how it kinda looks like they're glitching! :o It's really cool and Loop is Siffrin. But they're also Loop, and they can be someone else, too. They can't go back. What they've been through changed them. What they did, giving up while drowning in despair, changed them. Unequivocally. They've Changed. They can look back and see the reflection, shadow, ghost of who they'd been. Who they were can still guide them, in a way. Moving forward doesn't mean throwing away the past. But they can't be that person again. They need to do what is so often very hard to do: Follow their own advice. Let go, and keep going.

i usually like to make Decisions about things, at least internally, but the whole mirror scene is something I decided would be very ambiguous. is this their actual party, somehow? is it just Loop imagining them? is the Universe just pretending to be the party? Who Knows :) the only thing I really decided about this scene is that it is the result of loopert Wish Craft,,,the rest is simply vibes. love it here
