I can only say as the Captain; Good Lord. This must be the most captivated I've been by a story in a long time. It's the kind of story that I think of any time I hear someone dismissing fanfiction as something less real than published books. Ignorant fools. This was a story worthy of being a book, and it almost feels wrong to be able to read it for free.
Your writing is magnificent! You had me entranced from the first moment with your lovely descriptions, wonderful grasp on the characters and a striking balance between the poetic and hard-hitting reality.
I fell in love with the Captain's story while watching the show, but it never felt like we were given enough. Your story dived into everything that lingered between the lines, and did so in such a respectful way. Just like the show itself, I am sad to have finished this, but so happy to have found it in the first place!
I hope you will keep writing, because you have a true talent for it! And if you are not already writing books, I have no doubt that they would be well-loved if you did. And if you stick to fanfiction, I am sure many will be delighted to enjoy your works for free!
