      No, they're saying you messed up with the narration.

      >“He was under the hat for more than five minutes, wasn't he?” Peter hummed, his eyes glistening in academic interest. Hatstalls were rare, James had only seen Peter himself being subject to one in the years he had been in Hogwarts. And now there was Edward Lupin.

      This sounds as though it's narration from the perspective of the Marauders, and they think of his as Edward Lupin here, instead of under the name Edward Evans.
