    Omg!!! I feel so bad for Umeko!! I hope Naruto’s brand of ‘forceful friendship until you stop your deviant ways and become my friend’ will help her out. Stupid Danzo…. >:| it’s sad because I think in a way Umeko believes she deserves this punishment and this cruel life, so she’d rather serve her sentence under Danzo than try to run away and seek help.

    It’s sooo so messed up how she was broken down as a kid and now she’s trying to do the same to Sasuke by reminding him that his whole family is dead lmao I’m dying to see how her plan to serve him his MOM’s cooking will go omg. I think it will…. Go bad hahaha I’m scared. That’s so awful Umeko!! Give me more please.

    Also! They noticed her bruises finally… maybe they’ll keep a closer eye on her? Naruto def knows when her smiles are fake, or senses that they’re not all genuine BUT i think he was just so desperate for some kindness that he didn’t mind it wasn’t entirely honest, at least at first. Naruto will be good for Umeko…

    And wow!! Shikamaru would have been a very interesting love interest hahahah he would have been so hard to manipulate and I feel like Umeko would have found him infuriating for not falling for her manipulations hahaha. In another universe perhaps. But!!! Sasuke and Umeko are very intriguing too… i can’t wait to see how their relationship develops.

    Kakashi-sensei!! Stop reading porn and pls help your students!!!

      I'm so glad you guys like it! This chapter was really hard to write for me, because Umeko is being objectively AWFUL and it's hard to balance her self-loathing, immense ego, and make her likeable/relateable!

      I will say, the comments have fueled me with inspiration to get the next chapter out! I'm utterly terrible with deadlines, but I'm hoping I can post it in a week or two for you guys :) Thank you for reading!

      (also, in ch2, the scene of shikamaru and umeko bantering is a remnant from when i was writing with the idea of them ending up together. it was very much going to be snarky and snippy between them.)
