  1. One more thing that I forgot to ask here, idk why but I really like to think about the war between Hylia and Demise and what caused it and such. I know there's the obvious reason being the triforce but even then I like thinking about it and making my own headcanons for it.

That's not the question tho, my question is do you think the hero's spirit would resent Hylia for leaving the aftermath of her and Demises war to them. Because I was rembering a scene from SU where Steven interacts with an illusion of his mom and there was one line in particular that I thought could fit here.

"I know what you are, your a lier. I thought you never wanted to hurt anyone but you hurt everyone- mabye they didn't matter to you as much as hiding from the mess you made. And that's why I'm here isn't it, did you make me just so you wouldn't have to deal with your mistakes."

I truly don't know why this line in particular has been repeating in my head when I read your fic, but for some reason I could just imagine Link having a conversation like this with Hylia.

Especially the line "did you make me so you wouldn't have to deal with your mistakes." That line in particular just screams at me especially when I read the scene where Hylia shows Link these memories. I don't know why but to me I think that's a bit of why the hero's spirit exists, ofcourse that is just my personal opinion but I felt like the comparison was to good to not at least mention.

    1. No, I do not think the Hero's Spirit, at least originally, would resent that.

Link in Skyward Sword is directly told by Hylia that she used him for this purpose. Never once did he hold it against her. He seemed shocked, but he never stopped fighting for her and doing what was right. Even if the burden was placed on his shoulders, he was willing to take it.

After this many cycles though? Hyrule flooding? Friends leaving? People dying? An entire kingdom falling multiple times over and over? I think the hero's spirit would wonder why she isn't doing more. Demise was the one that cursed them. It will always be his fault that the curse continues. But... I won't lie that Link's anger towards Hylia is something akin to what you're saying. He's the clean-up at this point, or at least he was when he started the story. Everyone had already died. Hylia was silent and did nothing. He had to pick up the pieces.

So maybe some iterations of Link would feel that way.

I feel like many of Hylia's actions are calculated and not necessarily a mistake. At least Skyward Sword wasn't. It was a plan that she used Link for, and she fully admits to doing so. She is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal and to make sure the darkness ceases to be. But damn, Link probably feels like shit this many cycles in, now doesn't he?
