Welcome back! Happy to see a mostly Revali and Link-centric chapter. Nice to see how far both of them have come up to this point and a preview of how they will be relying on each other during the coming strife.
I enjoyed imagining Revali pacing around Teba and Saki’s roost as he waits for Link to reappear again. I think he likes it when Link doesn’t have the Sheikah slate to whisk himself to the other side of Hyrule with no notice. As much as he might put on a show about flying Link across the land, I know he is happy when he is able to keep an eye on Link and help keep him safe.
The banter back and forth between Revali and Link is always fun. They always know which buttons to poke in the other and what the thought process is for the other. On top of that, they also jump at any opportunity to heap praise on the other when in front of others.
The whole dinner scene was a joy to read from start to finish. I’m sad that it will probably be a while before we can get such a scene with the whole family back together again, but that just means we will have to savor this moment even more in the meantime. Revali and Link have truly been absorbed into the family.
Teba and Saki gleeful about Revali and Link’s dynamic and relationship? It reminds them of when they first got together
Teba taking a random stray from Tulin? He will allow it… but only this time Tulin
Revali now inflating the image of Link even further as a grand hero? Happily
Revali turning into Saki with how much he hovers over Link? Revali and Saki definitely discuss Link whenever they see each other around the village. They are on the same wavelength
Teba channeling his inner Revali fanboy as he notes down every word on how to improve his gale? Hopefully Saki never shows Revali Teba’s secret shrine to him he made before his resurrection
Revali wondering if he is going insane in the Lost Woods? Great, just one more thing he is going to have to discuss with his therapist
Talking tree? The voices from the trees are going to give Revali ptsd
Koroks scaring the feathers off of Revali? Yes
Vah Medoh and Revali having a special moment with each other? Adorable
Vah Medoh seeing a threat lingering around the edges of Lake Totori? If only they didn’t shut down to install the latest Windows update
Link jumping off of Revali’s back with no warning? Stop trying to kill him again with a heart attack!
Revali going to rend Hylia apart thread by thread? Gladly. The stifling heat of the Death Mountain and humidity of Akkala are only more reason to do so
Link getting sick of Hylia’s shit? He will persist until Fi gets the help she needs
Fi wanting to be self-sacrificing? Really shares a lot in common with Link
Zelda not having a plan for the time after successfully securing Mipha? Really embracing that chaotic lifestyle
Link going to release a horde of keese in Purah’s lab if she takes one more thing from his slate? Don’t doubt his ability to do so
Zelda surviving Saki’s ire this time for stealing Link? That’s what she thinks. Saki is patient. Revenge will come eventually
Revali ready to support Link with the coming shrines? Always
Dark clouds on the horizon? It comes
I think I hit most of what I wanted to from this chapter. Anyway, until next time, soar high!
Yeah I enjoyed focusing on the two of them for a second! They're so fun to write as usual and bounce off of each other in a really fun way. Your honor I love them.
The slate is a very scary thing for anyone on the receiving end tbh. I doubt anyone but Zelda really likes seeing it be used. It's a conversation ender, a quick escape, and a VERY easy way to lose track of someone. On someone like Link, that means he can run very very far away if he wants to. It's terrifying! It is however an essential part of Link's toolkit that he hasn't been without for a while. But yeah, bottom line is that Revali is MORE than happy to fly around even if he's being a bit coy about it.
Their banter is the reason this fic is so damn long. I love these two dancing around each other and will do it for all eternity at this rate. They're figuring each other out REAAALLY well and I'm glad you're noticing the praise! they both think very highly of each other and outwardly show it! They're really their own worst enemies when it comes to seeing that.
Yeah. It is sad that it's probably the last major scene with them. I'm trying to be reasonable and begin the ending stretch of this fic. Of course, that's for this fic. They'll be back, obviously. We have a whole 'nother fic to go. But I'm glad yall liked the scene. I wanted a good send off if it is the last time for this fic.
Teba and Saki both KNOW. The betting pool on if there will be a feather has undoubtedly started tbh.

And yeah Revali is just asking for them to give Link a little credit. It's entirely understandable where everyone is coming from. Revali was just in that position in Zora's Domain. But Link is a great fighter and he's gonna repeat it forever! Besides, Revali also worries just as much as them. He's just a lot less good at fully admitting it.
Glad you liked Revali peeping the horrors in the Lost Woods. No funny korok time but yay at least Revali is spooked :)
Vah Medoh can take a little break for now. They need to rest at some point! They've been having their own little fight for a while.

Revali IS going to be very pissed. He IS very pissed. At least he's not mad at Link, he's just mad at the goddess. Small improvements.
