    hello, I’d like to answer your question :)
    A tiger and a dragon is used to describe two beings in a fierce rivalry in the Chinese culture. There is even a saying, ‘the tiger and the dragon’ in Chinese to describe such rivalry.
    So, since Po is the Dragon Warrior, I believe the author made Shen as the Tiger Warrior to show them in contrast to each other!

      Is that so? I always thought that a Phoenix have some kind of riverly with Dragon too, but hey whatever works 😁
