Much agreed on the single-minded unrequited fixation Mimikyu has on Pikachu — delectably weird, literally unhinged ("hanging on by a thread" is the perfect way to describe it) and so interesting to squint and poke at. I felt it paired well with Chi-Yu's whole ordeal as a historical accumulation of envy, so of course I joyfully seized on the chance to squish those prompts together!
Glad the atmospheric glimmet worked for you! Their shapes were deliberately streamlined into a more fishlike appearance; combined with Chi-Yu, I was going for a vague sense of school of spooky/evil fish circling their victim like vultures. Poor Pikachu indeed
Re: color! So pleased you like the palette! The plan was to balance Pikachu/Mimikyu/Chi-yu's yellow-heavy tones with a lot of nice resentful blues, so that when everything was swirled together, the scene would emanate a properly jealous shade of green
