I will say that I really do love this fic and I get the demoralisation of people shitting on your ship- for myself I think that part of it is how I enjoyed it in the original books (though f the creator) but in fic a lot of H/G fics turn her into a cardboard cutout based off the movies or they don’t spend nearly enough time developing the relationship, mostly treating it as a default b plot to the main story and making it come out of nowhere. They also tend to put a huge power difference where Ginny just goes with everything Harry decides and he doesn’t really treat her as someone he respects as an equal, which I hate for both of them bc it stomps all over their original personalities and dynamic. This is why I was absolutely delighted to read your fic bc I DO like the ship, just not how it tends to be portrayed in fandom that I’ve seen.
I actually don't read a lot of H/G fics because of that. Ginny is so sparky and sassy and fiery. She really deserves better which is ultimately why I began writing my own H/G fics again. I want people to know that she can be so much more than they realize!! I am of course happy for those people to read my fics, I just... want to lessen the impact of some comments, if that makes sense.
I get it. Also, frankly, most H/G fics, especially the ones on ffnet, are straight up OOC power fantasies. People just seem to write Ginny a lot more fun when she and Harry are gay bffs instead of romantically involved for some reason lmao
