    with my experience in imperial dramas, the emperor could start off the sweetest and most righteous bby boy but somehow once that 朕 comes out it's game over. how could the emperor, the symbolic son of heaven and the owner of the 'dragon throne' ever stand to have a literal dragon in his court? even if said dragon wanted to just read his books and pine for his millenia lost idol 😂😂😂

    can't have a fic from shen wei's pov without some self flagellation and angsty thoughts

      Hah, your and my experience with Emperor's in imperial court dramas seems similar 😁 they can be the best rulers ever, but give them something shiny they start to want... Or maybe just want to use, and all the bets are off.

      Ah, well, Shen Wei does like his angsty thoughts, can't deny him those, unfortunately, but at least he doesn't get too self-depreciating here, good for him, good for him.
