Also, the moment when Joey shows up and Dick has his Realization was just delightful. I keep imagining the conversation Slade must have had with Joey on his side and his own "🤨" moment when he realizes he left his daughter with Nightwing of all people 🤣
I think my favorite moments were when he's telling Dick he's too young to be this angsty about life ❤️

it pains me daily that in the superhero fandoms we are so lacking in the identity porn!! i am on a noble quest to return to us the days of the identity shenanigans
unfortunately most of the longer version exists in my head where i have gently but firmly told certain parts that they simply had no chance of making it to the page 😔 i wanted more of clancy and the other blüdhaven building residents, and ideally there would’ve been more time with both slade and rose at the apartment before the identity reveals for relationship development and pacing. but honestly who knows when i would have finished the longer version (i say, buried beneath a pile of projects), so it’s perhaps for the best that this cut made it out!
“i don’t know what’s going on but i don’t like it” is my favorite state to put slade in, always 😆
