This chapter literally made me get a bit teary 🥹 It's everything!!! It's the relationship between John and the girls, it's the way he goes from awful one-word replies when he first finds out the truth about Jenson's 'girlfriend' to calling Seb and Jense "the boys" and the whole "my son just won!" 😭😭😭 And the crossword buddies thing which is SO PERFECT I can't even!!! and PIPPA who I wish I'd written into SF now because she is one awesome lady!!
It's just. The depth of this is astonishing, the friendships and partnerships and family..ships (!) are SO believable and real, and the formatting is genius.
(and as other people have already said, John is absolutely the reluctant cat dad 🥰)

john and seb's dynamic in sf is some of the most important things to me, i love their relationship (and john's growth throughout it) (one-word replies to "boys" is my favourite part two, john coming to their rescue and taking care of them when both jense and seb were poorly is such a good moment and great show of love - even if they dont say 'i love you' out loud) so im happy i managed to show at least part of it! and other members of button family are so fun to write, i love these characters so much
pippa is mother (and the one who got through to john that same-sex relationships arent exactly accepted in places they race, so points for that)
