Just tossing an idea out there if you end up writing a Lord Potter side story, I would love to see it revealed that at some point he inadvertently discovered that Alya was actually his time-traveling great, great, great, granddaughter. A fact that he keeps to himself (because it's not his secret to tell) save perhaps for his wife who he probably can't hide anything from anyway, and sees them (and House Potter) back her to the hilt in the political and social arena.
Sorry for only replying now, was on a little busy finding myself a new apartment and moving in and going on vacation xD Not too sure how I would pull off that kind of discovery, but I love the idea. I'm a sucker for silent support from loving grandfathers xD I'm definitely writing this idea down, it's so cute!
I've been there so I definitely get it. Still glad you liked the idea, as for how Lord Potter would discover said fact the only thing I can think of at the moment is that Potter Manor (which was destroyed in either the Grindelwald war or Voldemort's first rising so Alya wouldn't know about its defenses) has a ward scheme tied to the family magic (one that let's say James ended up using as part of the foundation for the Marauder's maps ability to track anyone who steps onto the Hogwarts grounds) that keeps a family tree/archive that is automatically updated when an unlisted family member crosses the ward boundary. Thus when Alya crosses the boundary the book uses her own magical record to update itself where there are gaps, IE anyone who is alive at this point, Lord James E Potter, his son Calvin Potter, and Alya's great-grandfather Henry Potter would all remain unchanged with no death date or marriage connections for Henry only a blank unnamed wife with no dates (as she hasn't yet made the magical marriage connection to the present Henry), but people who haven't been born yet like Fleamont and James draw their record from Alya's magic and so show up with their birth date, death date, and their corresponding spouse who has the same information but no additional family links, Alya meanwhile appears with her current name and 1980 birthdate like you have on your family tree.
Thus after Alya has met the current Potters and developed a warm relationship with them Lord James E Potter gets curious and on a lark decides to use the family tree/archive to find out their exact relation only to be dumbfounded by the added information. He then shares said information with his wife and they both agree that this is not their secret to tell, and so decide not to discuss it with Alya unless she brings it up first. (something I think she will probably do at some point) In the meantime though, they decide to support her as best they can and back their newly discovered great-great-great-grandaughter to the hilt in the political and social arena.
In any case, I see you've just posted a new chapter for the main story so I'm off to read that.
