Comment on The Instruments of Their Own Destruction

  1. AHHHHHHH, IM LITERALLY SCREAMING RIGHT NOW!!! I've been looking for some darker fics for a while, but none of them have ever felt really in character? BUT THIS FEELS SO NATURAL?? And the fact that you're focusing on Annabeth too?? Absolute perfection! Can't wait to see where this goes!!<3

    1. Glad it hit you this hard! :)

And yeah, what pushed me to start writing this fic was going through all of the current ones, and either finishing them or stopping because of bad characterization and writing decisions, like you said. Another thing I found is that there are so many fewer Dark Annabeth fics than Dark Percy ones, and the few we have are either oneshots (don't tease me, give me more!) or have her be secondary and deferring in the story to Percy (LAME, like she would let Percy do that, and like he would do that to her in the first place).

So yes, there's a whole bounty of unexplored potential and drama to be unearthed when giving Annabeth a co-central role in the story. Also, I wanted to write this because dark Percy and Annabeth are hot in both a literary analysis way (think themes, motives of betrayal and righteous anger) and in a literal way of 'take these two attractive people, then make them DARK and more rough around the edges, but still be loving toward each other while committing their dark deeds'.

Looking forward to more of your comments and enjoyment!

Okay, but that is just SO MUCH HOTTER and more interesting?! And totally in character for them too!
